Janis Brunner

I am a mixed media artist form Brownsburg, IN. I am married to my husband Merrill and together we have four wonderful children and seven grandchildren. I am a former Surgical Technologist turned faux finish artist and decorative wall painter. I have studied with several of the nations top faux finish designers in Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, and Cincinnati.

Since I have retired from strenuous days of climbing tall ladders and scaffolding, I have used my knowledge of texture and color to create mixed media art. I love to paint with acrylics and am most inspired by nature.

I like to use found objects, decorative papers, fabric, jewelry, buttons, and vintage items in my work along with many different textures.

Jan also offers two different classes: Zentangle and Fearless! If you would like to take a class to relax your mind, join a Zentangle class!  It is a very relaxing art by beginning with one stroke in a space with repeating “doodles”. It’s often referred to as yoga for the brain! Classes are $20 (supplies included). Class minimum is five (5)! Call or stop by the Art Center to sign up!

You can also take a class called Fearless! You will be given a 3×3 white canvas and end with a larger collaged piece! The class is $40 (supplies included) and the class minimum is five (5). You may stop in at the Art Center to sign up, or contact Jan to sign up!
